Park Place School, located in Norfolk, VA, reaching out and empowering children, their families, and their communities, centering on the Park Place (Norfolk) neighborhood.
In the next three years (2010-2012), we will grow by one class per year until we have grades 2 through 5 in our school; each class will have 10-12 students. In the following five years, we plan to have two classes in each grade level. Our current facility will accommodate up to 6 classes, so we will plan for expansion in the near future.
Our school will provide after-school opportunities to all of our students, past and present, so that all of our students will be capable of graduating from high school. We will reach out to our students’ families and communities to support them throughout their schooling, including college.
Our students will respect each other, and we will not let behavioral or disciplinary problems interfere with our intense teaching and therapy techniques. Our students will be challenged to grow in character so that they can make better life choices. We will strive to provide a safe environment in which to learn. Our work with our students, their families, and their communities will lead to a higher graduation rate in local schools, a reduction in the local crime rate, and a broader awareness of our school and what we are doing.
Students, entering 2nd and 3rd grade who have difficulty learning and who read below grade level are candidates for admission. Please call (757)624-3473 or e-mail us to have an application mailed to you.
