Park Place School adheres to the principal that cognitive
functioning of all students can be modified. Park Place School’s
academic model consists
of NILD™ Group Educational Therapy,
computer-aided instruction, small group instruction and character
development.
NILD™ Group Educational therapy is an intervention that involves intense, direct instruction to stimulate and develop perceptual and cognitive functioning in the visual, auditory and kinesthetic modalities.
As a result, students take ownership of their progress, become proficient in organizing materials, and learn to interact in cooperative group settings. With improved skills in reading, writing and math, as well as in governing themselves in the academic setting at Park Place School, students, and their families are beginning to look optimistically toward the time when they will return to public school.
